The first week of training is always hard. Nearly everyday of the week your body is telling you not to do it. Your body screams in agony that why did you take that 2 month break, why did you ever have the last piece of icecream, why not get some more sleep.
I just finished the 1’st week of my Tri training. They say the first week is always the toughest, for the last 4 years I have wanted to believe that. But I think it is my inherent laziness and going from 0 to 60 that makes this week tough. The waking up early in the morning and doing the swim, and then coming back after work and doing a 2nd workout. Your body gets shocked into doing this.
This year should be an interesting Triathlon year for me. I am nursing a severe dislocation/break on my elbow and it makes training that much tougher. I was surprised the first time I got in the pool that I could do a full lap. Now I have to slowly build up my body to get ready for 70.3 miles.
