This weekend was my 2nd brick as building up to 2011. A brick is a bike-run. Physically 1 of the more challenging parts of a triathlon. To run after getting off the bike is “toooghh” . And plus for most of us (ok maybe just me) , it is also a mental challenge.You get off your bike and then to run hard got to build that mental 6pack.
This weekend the brick went really well. I did a hard 1hr bike. with 2 8′ intervals @z4 , followed by a 2 x 15′ also close to z4/z3 . That just took the life out of my legs. My mistake I mis-read the plan the idea was to do the 2×15′ @z3 not try to hit z4. Oh well went way to hard basically.
Got off the trainer and it was time to run. Ran an easy 1mi at 8:10 pace. Then brought it down to 7:50 , 7:40 pace. That felt good. I am still feeling the effects of that crazy workout a day later.
