I never like to think too much about the 1st week of the training plan. But this time around I was pumped, I was ready, it was game on . I had been good at working out consistently in my off-season. So that come the 1st week of the IM training plan I wanted to jump into it.
Well as some would say s*** happens. The week started off on the wrong foot with me missing some workouts to catch up on work. And then when it came to doing the bike LTHR and run vdot tests both were dissapointing. I had lost some bike form and was roughly 80% of where I wanted to be at this time of the year. The run the vdot number was the same but that didn’t mean much because I just lost traction and will-power after the 2 miles.
So as saturday comes around I want to forget the week 1 disasters and plan for week 2.
Lesson learnt s*** happens in the IM, you have to learn from the mistakes, adjust and move on.
